Humanities

Humanities (Citizenship, Geography, History and Religious Education) is delivered by a single teacher in Key Stage 3 and students rotate through the different subjects each year. Students are taught in mixed ability groups in Years 7 to 8. There is a strong emphasis placed on developing effective learning habits. In Year 9 students are taught the subjects separately and in RE they begin a two year GCSE short course.

Students can choose to study GSCE Geography (OCR Syllabus A) in Years 10 and 11.

In the Sixth Form students can study A Level Geography (Edexcel).

The Faculty Leader is Mr G Sampson, to whom all queries regarding Humanities at JMHS should be made.
