Students in Years 7, 8 students have one period of Art per week and are taught in mixed ability groups. In year 9 Art becomes an optional subject and students that choose it have two hours a week.
In Years 10 and 11 Art is an examination option subject. Last year 42 students did a level 2 Btec in Art & Design and 3 of those students also sat the OCR GCSE. The themes for these courses are
• Natural forms
• Portraits
• Surrealism
In Sixth form students can study Fine Art and or Digital Photography as a level 3 Btec.
We have three Art rooms, one of which is reserved solely for level 3 A Level students, and a fully functioning kiln room and an ICT suite
