Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have one period of Art per week and are taught in mixed ability groups.  In Years 10 and 11 Art is an option subject and last year 41 students took GCSE Art.  We have three Art rooms, one of which is reserved solely for A Level students, and a fully functioning kiln room. 

We follow the GCSE Art and Design OCR syllabus which concentrates on:
• Natural forms
• Portraits
• Surrealism
• Personal objects

The Head of Department is Mr C Bateman to whom all queries regarding Art at JMHS should be addressed.
