In Year 10 students study the compulsory subjects of English, Maths, Science, PE and RE plus the options subjects they have chosen. 

Some students in Year 10 will be undertaking Young Apprenticeships which involves study off site for two days per week. 

It is very difficult to change subjects once you have started a course in Year 10. Only in exceptional circumstances can a change be made and this must take pace before the end of Week 4 in the autumn term. 

Students entering JMHS at the start of Year 10 may find their choice of options is limited but we will endeavor to meet individual requirements where possible.  

Students will take formal, external GCSE modular examinations in the vast majority of their subjects, so hard work and a determination to establish good working patterns are essential.
