Charity News

During year 7 charity week, H7A had a sponsored tie wear. They raised £53 for St Michael's Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

H8B would like to thank everyone who put money into the bucket. Your generosity means that we have raised £155.40.

House News

Congratulations to our yr11 chess champions who swept the board gaining all top 3 places. Jon Jarvis / Connor Davis / Ben Coppin.

Congrats also go to Harry Powell who came a very honourable second in the yr9 chess challenge. Still next year to get to number 1 Harry!

Big praise to H8B for their excellent assembly on Haiti, and their perseverance in their bucket of pennies collection. To date they have over £100.

We have also been treated to assemblies from H9A ; H9B and H11A.

The Hats for Haiti day also produced some great ideas – well done guys.

Sadly our Challenge assembly – the cereal box challenge – has had to be postponed until the first assembly back. Keep guessing, and if you’ve worked it out, make sure your champion is practising!

We are also top of the pops for the Maths challenges in year 7.Our B team were outstanding in conquering all comers, while the A team narrowly missed out. I was so proud of their conduct in spontaneously and genuinely congratulating their opponents.

The big drive this term and for next term is increasing our attendance, after the ravages of both the weather and the ‘flu. It is finally creeping up, so remember every day counts Holywell.
