New York, 1929, a war rages between two rival gangsters, Fat Sam and Dandy Dan. Dan is in possession of a new and deadly weapon, the dreaded 'splurge gun'.

As the custard pies fly, Bugsy Malone, an all-round nice guy, falls for Blousey Brown, a singer at Fat Sam's speakeasy. His designs on her are disrupted by the seductive songstress Tallulah who wants Bugsy for herself. How is Bugsy to get the girl and help Fat Sam defend his business against the deadly Dan and his dastardly tricks?
The staff and students worked tirelessly on this fantastic production and played to packed houses at every show. Everyone in the audience had a thoroughly good time in spite of having to duck for the occasional shot of splurge. The show was filled with humour, energy and joy, particularly in the final number where the cast sang their hearts out and list up the theatre space! Matt Morris was a revelation in his first lead role as Bugsy and enjoyed wonderful support from fellow cast members George Baker (Fat Sam) and Gavin Dale (Dandy Dan). The audiences were also treated to some beautiful singing from Chloe McPherson as Blousey and Jenni Baggott as Tallulah. George Baker also deserves a special mention as he organised all of the lighting and sound. The backstage crew were patient and efficient and made the show go with a swing!
